WMF Celebrates Its Latest Publication Feminist Readings of Arab Cultural History

Share

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a book launch to celebrate the release of Feminist Readings of Arab Cultural History by Elles Publication House. The event was held on Saturday 14 December 2024 at the WMF headquarters in Cairo, and featured a book review and discussion by Dr. Hanan Sabae, Anthropology Professor at the American University of Cairo.

Feminist Readings of Arab Cultural History brings together a collection of Arab feminist research papers that examine the stereotyping of women’s roles and the marginalization of their contributions in historiography, during specific historical periods, and in several literature. The book is edited by Dr. Omaima Abu-Bakr, Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Cairo University, and founding member of the WMF.
