The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a screening of the Egyptian documentary Big Little Women (Mish Zayohum) on Wednesday 5 November 2025, at the WMF headquarters in Cairo. The film screening was followed by an open discussion with the film’s director, Nadia Fares, moderated by Dr. Sahar Sobhi, marking the latest episode of the WMF Film Club “Women’s Tales.”

“Women’ Tales” engages with women’s issues in Arab cinema by hosting monthly screenings of selected films. The screenings are free and open to the public and feature the women filmmakers for an open discussion with them.

Big Little Women follows the struggle of three generations of women against patriarchal norms in Egypt and Switzerland, the countries of origin of the director’s father and mother, respectively. The documentary won the 2023 awards for the Best Egyptian Film and Best Euro-Mediterranean Film at the Aswan International Women Film Festival.
