WMF Film Club Screens Daughters of Abdul-Rahman in Episode Six of “Women’s Tales” Featuring Producer Shahinaz al-Aqqad

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a screening of the film Daughters of Abdul-Rahman on Wednesday 7 May 2025, at the WMF headquarters in Cairo. The screening was followed by an open discussion with the film’s producer, Shahinaz al-Aqqad, and director Noha Adel, marking the sixth episode of the WMF Film Club “Women’s Tales.”
“Women’ Tales” engages with women’s issues in Arab cinema by hosting monthly screenings of selected films on the first Wednesday of each month. The screenings are free and open to the public, and feature the women filmmakers for an open discussion with them.
In addition to receiving four audience awards, Daughters of Abdul-Rahman won four awards from the Middle East Now Festival in Florence, the Espinho Film Festival for New and First-Time Directors in Portugal, the San Diego Arab Film Festival in the United States, and the Cairo International Film Festival.
