WMF Film Club Screens the Short Film Collection Sweet & Sour in the Latest Episode of “Women’s Tales”

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a screening of a collection of short films, together entitled Sweet & Sour, as part of the WMF Film Club “Women’s Tales.” The screening was held on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, at the WMF headquarters in Cairo, and was followed by an open discussion with the films’ directors, Amira Abd al-Fadil, Sara al-Halawani, and Hana Qassim, moderated by Mennat-Allah El Dorry.
“Women’ Tales” engages with women’s issues in Arab cinema by hosting monthly screenings of selected films. The screenings are free and open to the public and feature the women filmmakers for an open discussion with them.
The short films in Sweet & Sour show the family relationships, human connections, and emotions involved in food and cooking.
