The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a public lecture on Arab Immigrants in Argentina, delivered by Christina Civantos, Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Miami, USA. The lecture was held in July 2002, and discussed the results of Dr. Civantos’s PhD research.

During the lecture, Dr. Civantos talked about her interest in the experiences of Arab immigrants in the Americas in general, and particularly during the post-colonial national movements in the eighteenth century. She also discussed the methodologies of teaching Latin American literature.
