Azza Basarudin at WMF for a Public Lecture on Islam, Gender, and Feminism

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a public lecture entitled “Societies for Believers? Islam, Gender, and Feminism” delivered by Azza Basarudin. The lecture was held in Cairo on 19 August 2007, and introduced Basarudin research on the politics of feminist knowledge production as seen through the entanglement between gender, religion, and/or culture in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Azza Basarudin has a bachelor’s degree in management, and a master’s degree in women’s studies. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Women’s Studies at California State University in Los Angeles.
