Dr. Ziba Mir-Hosseini at the WMF for a Screening of Her Documentary Divorce Iranian Style

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) in collaboration with the Network for Women’s Rights Organizations (NWRO) in Egypt organized a screening of the documentary Divorce Iranian Style on 14 January 2010 at the Golden Tulip Flamenco Hotel in Zamalek, Cairo. The screening was followed by a discussion with the film director Dr. Ziba Mir-Hosseini.

Divorce Iranian Style (1998) is an award-winning documentary film directed by the Iranian filmmaker Ziba Mir-Hosseini and the British documentary filmmaker Kim Longinotto. The documentary observes the hidden world of Iran’s divorce courts, with an intimate view into the family life of Iranian women, revealing how they negotiate the restrictions of their society with ingenuity and humor.
