WMF Roundtable to Discuss the Profile on Egyptian Women in al-Bosla Magazine

Share

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a roundtable discussion on 5 September 2007 to examine the articles published in the fourth issue of the independent leftist magazine, al-Bosla [the Compass]. The articles appeared in a profile entitled “Body, Culture, and Politics: Questions,” with contributions from multiple authors, including Samer Soliman, Sharif Younis, Amr Abdelrahman, and Amr Ezzat who attended the WMF roundtable discussion. The profile also featured Zeinab Abu al-Magd’s article “Egyptian Feminism and Democracy,”  Mariam al-Naqr’s “We are All Laila,” in addition to the article “Women at the Frontline” by Hala Shukr-Allah investigating how the conflict between the Islamists and the state in Egypt impact women’s issues.
