The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a screening of two short films by director Sherif Elbendary in collaboration with al-Nahda Cultural and Scientific Renaissance Association at al-Faggala – Jesuit Cairo. The movie screening took place on Wednesday 17 January 2007, and featured the two shorts Six Girls and Rise and Shine. Both films are produced by the Cinema Institute and the National Center for Cinema in Cairo.

Set Banat (Six Girls) is a short narrative film that explores the relationship between six girls from the city of Port Said and the large city of Cairo. The girls come to Cairo to study, and decide to stay on their own, which is unusual in Egypt. The girls find an opportunity to live a unique life and experience having housemates.

Sabah el-Foll (Rise and Shine), starring Hind Sabry, follows the story of a young woman who wakes up on an ordinary morning and looks for her apartment keys. Through her search, she confronts the sorrows that she has been trying to forget.
