Share

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a public lecture entitled “Women in the History of Anticolonial Movements” and delivered by Dr. Robert Young, Professor of Culture and Critical Theory at Oxford University, England. The lecture was held in December 2003, and discussed women’s roles, positions, and contributions in anticolonial movements and the struggles against colonialism as well as the postcolonial efforts by women campaigners. The lecture also introduced a comparative outlook to postcolonial theory and feminism as a political project, revealing mutually beneficial grounds for both.
