The documentary Umm Kulthum, produced and directed by Michal Goldman, was shown on April 5th, 1999. The film is based on the book The Voice of Egypt: Umm Kulthum, Arabic Song, and Egyptian Society in the Twentieth Century by Virginia Danielson. The discussion was led by Fawzi Soleiman and Ferial Kamel.
