On the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women convened in Beijing in 1995 and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the CSW session reviewed the outcomes of the Conference and the implementation of Beijing Declaration during these fifteen years. The CSW session also reviewed the outcomes of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly for the year 2000.
The Women and Memory Forum participated in the UN DPI/NGO briefing session on 4 March, during which Dr. Mounira Soliman delivered the WMF’s presentation before the United Nations Department of Public Information/Non-Governmental Organization (DPI/NGO). The briefing session was titled “Equal Rights Equal Opportunities – Progress for All: Arab Women 15 Years After Beijing.”
