The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a regional training workshop on oral history research methodologies from a gendered perspective. The workshop was held in the period from 28 to 31 October, at the WMF headquarters in Cairo, with participants from Sudan, the UAE, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, and Egypt.
The objective of the WMF’s regional workshop is to train scholars interested in women and gender on employing feminist research methodologies and the methods of oral historiography, in addition to reading and interpreting oral narratives. The workshop also engaged the participants in practical applications on the practice of oral historiography, coupled with lectures and discussion groups. The workshop concluded with a tour to some of Egypt’s landmarks.
