WMF Organizes Two Lectures by Joan Scott in Egypt in Collaboration with the AUC’s History Department and the Center for Translation Studies

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) in collaboration with the History Department and the Center for Translation Studies at the American University in Cairo (AUC) organized two public lectures delivered by Dr. Joan Wallach Scott, a Professor of Social Sciences at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, USA.
The first lecture, “Politics of the Veil in Contemporary France,” was held on Saturday, 21 April 2012, from 05:00 to 07:00 PM in Ewart Hall, on the AUC’s Tahrir campus. The second lecture, “(Mis)Use of Gender as a Category of Analysis,” was held on Monday, 23 April 2012, from 01:00 to 02:00 PM in the Conference and Visitor Center, Room P007, on the AUC’s New Cairo campus.
Dr. Scott delivered both lectures in English with simultaneous translation into Arabic.
