WMF Revives the Memory of Nabawiyya Musa in a Seminar at Greater Cairo Library

The Women and Memory Forum (WMF) organized a seminar entitled “Remembering Nabawiyya Musa (1886-1951)” held from Tuesday 22 to Wednesday 23 June 1999 at the Greater Cairo Public Library.
For two days, the seminar covered multiple themes on Nabawiyya Musa’s activist life and career, including issues of women and the university, and the independence of the Egyptian University, as well as the history of the women’s chapter of the Egyptian University during the early 20th century. The seminar also covered Nabawiyya Musa’s writings and ideas, her vision of the elite intellectual crisis, her stance from women’s education and its relation to national independence, as well as Musa’s ethical politics.
