WMF Concludes the Publication of Its Feminist Translations Series

Share

With the release of the seventh and final volume of its Feminist Translations Series1, the Women and Memory Forum (WMF) concludes the publication of the complete series, now available in print and in digital format. The WMF initiated the Feminist Translations Series2 as part of its mission towards knowledge production through translation as a process of transferring and reproducing feminist thought in the Arabic Language.
The WMF’s Feminist Translations Project3 works to generate an Arabic glossary of gender and feminist-oriented terminology, which emerges during the process of translation by formulating new terminology in the Arabic language, hence producing new feminist knowledge. Through its Feminist Translations Project,4 the WMF combats the scarcity of scholarly material on gender theory and feminist studies in the Arabic language.
